Emerging Powers Card List & Price Guide (EPO)
Every Emerging Powers card with live raw and PSA 10 prices, updated hourly. Updated Nov 2, 2026.
Released on August 31, 2011, Emerging Powers is the second expansion of the Black & White era. It develops the early Unova card pool and gives Tornadus and Thundurus the set's only Rare Ultra treatments. That narrow premium tier defines the chase structure, with no secret rare above it. Zoroark is the notable holo rare, while cards such as Joltik and two Cubchoo versions add interest at common rarity. Pokémon Catcher also gives the set historical gameplay relevance beyond its full-art cards.

Frequently asked questions
What is the most valuable card in Emerging Powers?
Thundurus #97 leads the set at about $20.23 raw, followed by Tornadus #98 at $19.42.
How many cards are in Emerging Powers?
Emerging Powers has 98 cards in our price guide, released in August 2011. The most common rarity is Common (34 cards).
How much is a complete Emerging Powers set worth?
Adding up the lowest near mint Cardmarket price of every card gives about $89.55 for a raw set. Buying singles one by one usually costs more once shipping is added.
How many Emerging Powers cards are worth more than $10?
2 of the 98 cards are currently worth $10 or more raw. Most of the rest are commons and uncommons that sell in bulk.
How do I find the card number on a Emerging Powers card?
The number is printed in the bottom corner next to the set symbol and the set code EPO. Match it to the list above, or scan the card with a phone app to read it for you.
Why does Emerging Powers have only two full-art cards?
The rarity structure is much narrower than that of later expansions. Tornadus #98 and Thundurus #97 are the only Rare Ultra cards, with no full-art Supporters or secret rares added above them. As a result, the set's premium collecting focus rests almost entirely on that pair.
Was Pokémon Catcher introduced in Emerging Powers?
Yes. Pokémon Catcher debuted in Emerging Powers and became an important competitive Trainer card. Its original printed effect moved an opponent's Benched Pokémon into the Active Spot without requiring a coin flip. A later rules change altered how the card functioned in tournament play.
Are there any secret rare cards in Emerging Powers?
No. Emerging Powers ends with its two Rare Ultra cards, Thundurus #97 and Tornadus #98. Unlike Noble Victories and several later expansions, it does not include a card numbered beyond the regular sequence. That makes the full-art duo the clear completion bottleneck.
