EX Ruby & Sapphire has 109 cards with prices tracked hourly, released in July 2003. A complete raw set is worth about $4,359 and the most valuable card is Mewtwo ex #101 at $291.38.

Released in July 2003, EX Ruby & Sapphire opened the English EX era with a strong focus on the Hoenn region. The set introduced Pokémon-ex to this era's main expansion line, pairing high-impact foil cards with redesigned borders and dot-code layouts. Mewtwo ex #101 leads the chase group, followed by Lapras ex, Scyther ex, and Sneasel ex. Blaziken #3 and Sceptile #11 give the standard holo tier lasting appeal, especially for collectors building evolution lines around the Hoenn starters.

Pokémon-ex account for the strongest rarity premium, while Blaziken, Sceptile, and other standard holos provide more accessible targets. Completing the basic checklist is manageable through singles, but adding every reverse holo creates a much longer project. Foil scratches, silvering, back-edge whitening, and print lines deserve careful inspection. Sealed packs carry substantial opening risk because only a small part of the checklist sits in the Pokémon-ex tier.

Frequently asked questions

What is the most valuable card in EX Ruby & Sapphire?

Mewtwo ex #101 leads the set at about $291.38 raw, followed by Scyther ex #102 at $86.32.

How many cards are in EX Ruby & Sapphire?

EX Ruby & Sapphire has 109 cards in our price guide, released in July 2003. The most common rarity is Common (40 cards).

How much is a complete EX Ruby & Sapphire set worth?

Adding up the lowest near mint Cardmarket price of every card gives about $4,359 for a raw set. Buying singles one by one usually costs more once shipping is added.

How many EX Ruby & Sapphire cards are worth more than $10?

41 of the 109 cards are currently worth $10 or more raw. Most of the rest are commons and uncommons that sell in bulk.

How do I find the card number on a EX Ruby & Sapphire card?

The number is printed in the bottom corner next to the set symbol and the set code RS. Match it to the list above, or scan the card with a phone app to read it for you.

Where does Mewtwo ex #101 rank among EX Ruby & Sapphire chase cards?

Mewtwo ex #101 stands at the front of the set's chase group due to the character's popularity, the early Pokémon-ex design, and its place near the end of the numbered checklist. Clean foil surfaces are important because scratches and print lines can sharply separate otherwise similar copies.

Are dot-code borders found on EX Ruby & Sapphire cards?

Yes. EX Ruby & Sapphire belongs to the period when cards used dot-code layouts along the lower border. Those design elements immediately identify the early EX look. Wear along the bottom edge can interfere with the visual appeal, so that area deserves extra inspection.

Should an EX Ruby & Sapphire master set include reverse holos?

A basic numbered set needs one example of each checklist entry, while an expanded master set commonly adds the available reverse-holo parallels. Including them makes the project considerably harder because condition varies widely and less prominent commons or uncommons may appear less frequently in collector inventories.
