Released in 2002, Charizard #40 is a rare from the e-Card era's Expedition Base Set, illustrated by Hiromichi Sugiyama. Its large species following and top-tier position within the set make it one of Expedition's more expensive regular rares. The distinctive wide e-Reader border also places it firmly in Pokémon's early electronic-reader period.
