Issued in 2004, POP Series 1 began a line of compact promotional sets distributed through organized play. Its checklist mixes Hoenn-era favorites such as Rayquaza, Sceptile, Swampert, and Armaldo with older Pokémon including Tyranitar and Murkrow. Tyranitar ex and Armaldo ex define the upper end of the release, while Rayquaza remains an important character card despite its standard rare classification.
